According to the rescue sources, a total of four people died as a result of heavy rainfall followed by strong winds. Among the deceased people, two are children.
There were two separate incidents in which these deaths occurred. Sources have told that two children died due to a wall collapse in Millat Town. On the other hand, the other two deaths occurred in Chanesar Goth. Throughout the metropolis, light and heavy rainfall were witnessed.
As a result of heavy rainfall, sheds of several shops, as well as cattle farm walls, collapsed. On the other hand, people traveling via motorbikes got injured because of accidents.
According to the rescue sources, two additional dead bodies were discovered in Karachi’s Mehmoodabad and Burns Road areas.
The rescue officials said, “The bodies have been shifted to hospital for post-mortem.” But the reason for the death of the two persons is yet to be identified.
Sardar Sarfaraz, Chief Meteorologist of PMD said that the thunderstorms and rainy clouds are coming in the eastern direction, whereas, a few cloud parts are still at the Arabian Sea.
The Chief Meteorologist Sarfaraz further said, “Cloudy and rainy weather is also expected in Karachi tomorrow”.
On the other hand, K-electric urged people to carefully utilize electrical appliances. The spokesperson of KE said, “The citizens should stay away from damaged wires, TV and internet cables, power poles, and PMTs”.
Met Office said that the speed of the wind was 81 km/hr. The recorded rainfalls in the areas of Karachi in one hour are as follows:

- Quaidabad 6mm
- Saadi Town 3mm
Power outages also got reported from various areas of Karachi, once the rainfall started. The areas affected include Korangi, Azizabad, Surjani Town, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, North Karachi, and Orangi Town.
Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Minister for Local Governments sent directions regarding water drainage. He further added, “The traffic situation should be ensured on major roads”.
