Former Pakistani singer Adnan Sami shocked the world after he deleted all his pictures and videos on his Instagram handle. It was on July 20 that Adnan deleted everything, leaving everything blank. He then also left a cryptic message on social media titled ‘Alvida’.
The fans of Adnan Sami Khan were in a position of shock and awe, figuring out what the singer intended from his cryptic message.
Speaking to a UAE-based Masala! The singer stated he “did not realize the possible outcome of the action”. Through his interview, he informed, “I didn’t delete them, I archived them and the simple reasoning behind that was, musically speaking, I’ve sort of moved into another new phase in my life. First of all, I’m not the kind of person who sits complacently in any given scenario. I like to move forward and I don’t like to reminisce too much about the past. I’m pretty progressive in my way of working. So I felt that since I’m moving into a new phase of my life, let’s dean the slate and start afresh”.
Adnan Sami Khan further said, “Frankly speaking, I didn’t realize that it would create such a hullabaloo and warrant such a reaction. I could not have imagined it in my wildest dreams. But there were people who were just so incredible to the point where some even said that I need to be strong for my daughter. All I said was one word —Alvida — and that suddenly provoked so many different emotions.” He further said that he feels touchy how the audience has shown their love and affection. “But for me, it was one of the many firsts and I just wanted to start with a dean slate.”
On the occasion he also spoke about Azaan Sami Khan, his son, saying, “We do share our music with each other from time to time and we have a wonderful, healthy exchange of ideas. I haven’t shared the final mixed version of Alvida, but he’s heard it and he loved it. So whenever an opportunity arises, he always shares his ideas and it’s a great feeling to have this wonderful relationship that is beyond father and son, and on an artistic level as well.”
