Moderate to heavy rains were witnessed across Karachi on Wednesday under the influence of the fourth monsoon spell of the season. The latest spell has brought some respite to the people of the port city who have been suffering from humid weather for the past four days.
Following the downpour, the city’s electricity supply was also cut off in certain locations. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the monsoon currents are steadily infiltrating Sindh, and they’re probably going to get stronger by Thursday. Under the influence of the system, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sukkur, Khairpur, and other portions of Sindh are predicted to see thunderstorms with a few lights to moderate rains. Up until August 14, the rain is anticipated to be heavy and widespread.
In low-lying parts of Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and other province-wide cities, the PMD has also issued a warning about water logging. It further stated that from August 11 to August 14, sea levels will continue to remain extremely rough. Fishermen were urged by the PMD to exercise additional caution
