The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked over 1.1 million social media accounts for allegedly sharing illegal content and running a hate campaign against state institutions.
It got reports of up to 1.2 million social media IDs and blocked 1.13 million. About 10,500 were found innocent, and action is being taken against the rest.
Reports say that the government agency did something after people complained about illegal content on social media. The table below shows how many social media accounts PTA took action against on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and other sites.

In a separate statement, PTA said that it is working with telecom companies to ensure services are back up and running as soon as possible in areas affected by flooding. Floods have hurt 3,386 sites, and about 3,251 have been fixed. It wrote
