The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad, Pakistan now houses a global research and development centre that belongs to Arçelik, the parent company of Dawlance. The new facility aims to promote innovation in Pakistan and hasten Arçelik’s expansion on the domestic market.
Following the opening of an R&D facility in Karachi in 2017, this is Arçelik’s second facility in Pakistan. By educating Pakistan’s youth in current skill sets, the new centre will develop a workforce that is competitive on a global scale.
Representatives from Arçelik, Dawlance, and the Pakistani government were present for the opening. Pakistan is a crucial expanding market for local manufacturing, R&D, and future export hubs, according to Dr. Fatih Ebiçliolu, President of Consumer Durables of Arçelik’s parent firm Koç Holding, who spoke at the event.
All product categories in Dawlance are serviced by Arçelik’s R&D department in Karachi, including refrigerators/freezers, split air conditioners, washing machines, water dispensers, TVs, and small household appliances (SDAs). Arçelik is the only appliance producer in Pakistan with experience in every area of product design and development.
Arçelik’s collaboration with NUST, according to Dawlance CEO Umer Ahsan Khan, demonstrates the company’s dedication to promoting technical breakthroughs in Pakistan and facilitating young people’s professional growth.
Arçelik was congratulated by the Pro-Rector of NUST, Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Dr. Rizwan Riaz, for exploiting the university’s research-centric atmosphere to finish its continuing and forward-thinking R&D initiatives. The Arçelik team will be in charge of managing all of this project’s infrastructure and operating expenses.
Arçelik’s cutting-edge technologies, like Aqua Smart washing technology and Vitamin Fresh technology, guarantee up to 50% energy conservation and environmental sustainability, safeguarding the planet’s ecology for future generations. With the opening of the new R&D facility, Arçelik hopes to obtain a better understanding of local consumers’ needs and tastes in order to provide novel solutions tailored to Asian markets.
