Telecom Operators’ Association will be established, transforming Pakistan’s digital environment. The association’s first meeting was held in Islamabad and had participation from important telecom companies as Jazz, Ufone/PTCL, Telenor, Nayatel, Cybernet, and TWA. By pushing for policy improvements in the telecom and broadband industries, the project seeks to hasten digitization.
The association is led by Mr. Naveed Butt, Group Chief Regulatory Officer of PTCL & Ufone, as President of the Management Committee, Mr. Wahaj Muhammad Siraj, CEO of Nayatel, as Vice Chairman, and Mr. Aamir Ibrahim, Chairman of Jazz. As Interim Secretary General, Mr. Syed Fakhar Ahmed (CC&RO of Jazz) oversees efficient operations.
The ultimate objective is to draw international investment, promote industry expansion, and provide Pakistan’s consumers with cutting-edge services. Also on the association’s agenda is the promotion of digital inclusion, particularly among young people, women, and marginalized rural populations.
Mr. Aamir Ibrahim stressed the value of having a fruitful conversation with decision-makers, setting the expansion of broadband services as a top priority, and empowering Pakistan through digital inclusion.
With industry leaders committed to create change, advance the IT and telecom sectors, promote inclusivity, accelerate digitalization, and connect Pakistan to a better, digitally empowered future, the association sees itself as a catalyst for the Digital Pakistan goal.
