OPPO achieved a remarkable feat in H1 2023, securing first place in the Chinese smartphone market and ranking fourth globally for smartphone shipments. This impressive performance can be attributed to the success of its Find N2 series and Find X6 series flagship smartphones.
According to Canalys data, OPPO dominated with a 10% share of the global smartphone market, shipping 51.9 million units in H1. Simultaneously, it captured an impressive 18% share of the China smartphone market, making it the top-selling brand in the country during the first half of the year.
OPPO’s outstanding performance is in part due to the increasing popularity of foldable smartphones, which have witnessed rapid growth and show significant potential. Global shipments of foldable smartphones are projected to grow at a 114% compound annual rate from 2019 to 2025, with Chinese OEMs, including OPPO, contributing to China’s emergence as the global leader in the foldable market, holding a 26% share in 2022.
Recent Canalys data also indicates OPPO’s dominance in the foldable market within China during Q1 2023, commanding a 31% share. Among foldable products, the OPPO Find N2 Flip stood out, accounting for 15% of foldable smartphone sales in China from January to May 2023, as reported by Counterpoint.
The Find N2 Flip’s commercial success has propelled OPPO to outperform the global foldable market, increasing its market share from 5% in Q1 2022 to 13% in Q1 2023, according to Canalys.
