The IBA Karachi Office of Student Affairs (OSA) planned the welcoming event “IBA Orientation Gala 2022 (OGala ’23)” from August 16–19, 2023. Over 1600 people, including newcomers, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni, participated in the first four-day orientation in IBA’s history.
At IBA Karachi, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi welcomed the new students and their parents and emphasized the exciting adventure that lay ahead. Through tours, faculty meetings, fun activities, and business displays, the event aimed to introduce students to IBA’s thriving community.
School of Business Studies, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, and School of Economics and Social Sciences all assisted in facilitating orientation programs. During the Meet and Greet events, deans and program directors spoke with prospective students and their parents.
The IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) created iShop and iVenture in partnership with OSA. IBAzaar, which featured 55 booths from various startups, was held at the City Campus. The students’ experience was enhanced by a variety of activities, such as games and an open mic night.
The OGala ’23, which was co-sponsored by well-known companies, came to an end with a moving Qawwali performance by Majid Ali Sabri and ensemble. The IBA staff and students are in for a rich and varied experience as they embark on their future undertakings.
