Land Allotment Scandal Leads to Land Director's Removal by CDA

The Capital move Authority (CDA) has taken serious action against Sidra Anwar, its land director, in response to claims of fraudulent land allotment in Sector E-11, which is a significant move. The eight-kanal tract at the center of this dispute is thought to have been purchased using forged papers.

The CDA has formally informed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of its intention to make the change and requested authorization to reassign the concerned staff back to the Establishment Division.

According to insiders with knowledge of the matter, the land director is currently being investigated for reportedly giving his approval for the allotment of the eight-kanal property based on false papers. The beneficiaries had previously acquired land from the CDA back in 2006, it has been learned. However, they were able to get an extra plot of land thanks to alleged cooperation with specific officials. Later, this particular allocation was cancelled, which resulted in the suspension of two additional officials.

An attempt was made to take control of the land by a new party who had bought it from the original allottees prior to the annulment of the allotment. They were unsuccessful because alert CDA employees identified the transaction as a violation of protocol. Interestingly, some employees of an anti-corruption organization allegedly put pressure on these officials while working with the CDA.

The identity of a senior intelligence officer is said to have been used to frighten CDA employees into giving up the property, which heightens the suspense. The intelligence officer stepped in after becoming aware of this unauthorized use of his name, ordering the CDA chairman and the head of the watchdog to look into the situation.

In response to this instruction, the CDA chairman launched an internal investigation, which led to the suspension of Jamshed, a dealing assistant, and Assistant Director Aftab Saleem. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was discovered that the land had been improperly distributed and that the individuals involved had knowingly concealed the beneficiaries’ prior receipt of land from the CDA in 2006.

The security directorate seized various documents from the suspended dealing assistant in a connected situation. According to a reliable inside source, “Once the ECP’s approval is secured, the land director will also face disciplinary action.” The source further verified that a thorough investigation is ongoing.

Positively, the CDA has guaranteed that the local body won’t suffer any financial consequences as a result of the cancellation of the land purchase. This episode serves as a reminder of the value of openness, responsibility, and adherence to the rule of law in land allocation procedures.
