The Prime Minister of Pakistan, His Excellency Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, and Huawei Pakistan CEO Mr. Ethan Sun recently met in Islamabad to discuss current and potential cooperation aimed at promoting the expansion of Pakistan’s ICT ecosystem and digital economy.

The Honorable Prime Minister applauded Huawei for its crucial contribution to Pakistan’s digital transformation, highlighting the transformative potential of technology advancement and the expanded ICT opportunities for the country’s women and youth.

Innovation is at the core of Huawei’s business, according to Mr. Ethan Sun. Over 2000 specialists are employed by the Global Service Centre (GSC) R&D that we created in Pakistan last year. We continue to place a strong emphasis on developing ICT expertise, encouraging innovation, and encouraging technology usage both globally and locally. Pakistani engineers are highly skilled, and the country’s youth have a great deal of potential to take advantage of and contribute to Huawei’s endeavors in Pakistan. We want to connect Pakistani talent with the rest of the globe and release it.

Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunications Dr. Omar Saif said, “Huawei Pakistan constantly gives market investment and development first priority. We are happy to continue aiding the government’s initiatives to give Pakistani youth access to chances and platforms for development, promoting long-term expansion of the country’s ICT sector.

The Prime Minister and Huawei highlighted the importance of supporting regional partners and utilizing Huawei’s international expertise in fields like 5G, cloud computing, and other cutting-edge technologies during their discussion. With the active participation of local ICT talent, the objective is to improve implementation quality and highlight use cases in Pakistan, pushing digital transformation across diverse sectors and businesses.

This partnership between the Pakistani government and Huawei has the potential to advance Pakistan towards a more promising digital future, improve its ICT capabilities, and open doors for the country’s expanding youth population.
