The Sialkot police reported that anchor Imran Riaz Khan, who had been missing for almost five months, had been found and had safely returned home. Following significant protests on May 9 in response to the detention of the PTI chairman from the Islamabad High Court, he was taken into custody on May 11 at the Sialkot Airport under the 3MPO.
Sialkot police made the announcement of the recovery on X/Twitter, writing, “Journalist/anchor Mr. Imran Riaz Khan has been safely recovered and reunited with his family.”

Additionally, Imran Riaz’s family has also verified his safe recovery.
Earlier, on September 6, the Lahore High Court (LHC) extended the search for anchorperson Imran Riaz’s whereabouts by a further 13 days. The journalist’s father had petitioned the court, pleading for his son’s recovery.
Imran Riaz’s whereabouts have made progress, according to IG Punjab Usman Anwar, who also promised that “good news” would be forthcoming within the next 10 to 15 days.
