A well-known worldwide fabless semiconductor business, MediaTek, reiterates its dedication to promoting the uptake of 5G and cutting-edge technologies in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. MediaTek seeks to increase its footprint in the MEA smartphone and smart device ecosystem. MediaTek has a history of powering roughly 2 billion connected devices annually. In order to promote digital adoption and growth across numerous industries, the company also wants to step up its relationships with OEMs and telecom providers in MEA. These projects were highlighted at MediaTek Technology Diaries, the company’s premier interactive technology talk series, which was conducted in Dubai.
In the worldwide semiconductor market, MediaTek is a leader, holding the top positions in TV, Wi-Fi, 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), smartphones, and AI-IoT. MediaTek’s strategy in the MEA region is focused on three main areas:
Connectivity:
To give homes and businesses quicker internet connectivity, MediaTek offers products like the T750 or T830 5G FWA CPE chipsets and Filogic Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 chipsets. This gives operators the ability to completely revamp their fixed wireless access (FWA) services and enhance client impressions.
Smartphones:
When it comes to smartphone market share, MediaTek is at the top. Delivering a variety of premium and flagship smartphones while facilitating the switch from feature phones to smartphones is still the key goal.
AI-IoT:
In order to push the boundaries of AI-IoT, MediaTek is evaluating emerging cellular technologies like RedCap 5G. To bring the value of NTN to the AI-IoT ecosystem and unlock innovation in the consumer electronics and telecom verticals, collaboration with regional satellite and telecom operators is on the horizon.
At MediaTek Middle East and Africa, Rami Osman, Director for Business Development, said, “We aim to unlock innovation in CE and Telecom industry verticals and invite everyone to be part of this journey as we continue to redefine the boundaries of brilliance.”
The Airtel 5G CPE, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, HP Chromebook x360, Motorola Defy Satellite Link, TAG Pluto Tab, TAG-Tab 3, Jazz Digit 4G Smart Feature Phone, Amazon Echo, Yoco Khumo POS, and Yoco Neo Touch POS were just a few of the MediaTek-powered devices on display at the MediaTek Technology Diaries event.
Anuj Sidharth, Deputy Director of Marketing & Corporate Communications at MediaTek India, moderated a Fireside Chat at the event. Panelists Rami Osman and Mohamed A. El-saidny discussed the “Role of MediaTek in the global semiconductor landscape” as the topic of the discussion. The conversation emphasized MediaTek’s partnerships with OEMs and telecom providers while highlighting its leadership in a number of technological fields.
