TikTok's Q2 2023 Community Guidelines Enforcement Insights

TikTok, the leading platform for short-form videos, has released its Q2 2023 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, reiterating its dedication to thwarting misinformation and maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere. This report emphasizes how committed TikTok is to creating a safe environment for its community and building trust through responsibility.

Around 0.7% of all videos submitted on TikTok were deleted internationally in Q2 2023 (April–June). A total of 106,476,032 videos were removed worldwide. During this process, manual review restored 6,750,002 films out of the removed ones, while automatic methods found and eliminated 66,440,775 videos.

14,141,581 videos were taken down from Pakistan in Q2 2023 due to violations of community guidelines. In order to prevent the spread of automated spam accounts, TikTok has also taken aggressive steps against spam accounts and related content.

Of the videos that were violated in Pakistan in Q2 2023, 83.6% were taken down before they could be seen, and almost 92.5% were taken down in a single day. For the quarter, the proactive eradication rate was 98.6%. In order to prioritize the protection of young users, TikTok also globally deleted 18,823,040 accounts believed to be associated with individuals under the age of 13.

The Community Guidelines on TikTok apply to all users and content categories and are intended to foster a safe, welcoming, and authentic experience for all users. TikTok uses both human inspection and cutting-edge technology to find, assess, and remove content that violates these policies. Transparency regarding the quantity and kind of deleted content and accounts is provided via the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which is released on a quarterly basis.
