AbhiSalary, an Earned Wage Access (EWA) solution that emphasizes financial empowerment for employees, is the result of a partnership between Unilever Pakistan and ABHI, an embedded finance platform. Through this program, employees of Unilever Pakistan can obtain a portion of their earned income in as little as 30 seconds via the ABHI mobile app, SMS, or WhatsApp, providing flexibility until the next scheduled payday. The goal is to change the way workers handle their money by lowering their dependency on high-interest or unofficial loans and providing assistance during unforeseen costs.
This collaboration represents a shared commitment to financial inclusion and is in line with Unilever Pakistan’s efforts to transform economies by implementing programs like the “fair living wage.” Unilever Pakistan aims to improve financial accessibility by incorporating ABHI’s earned income access platform and establishing a new standard for inclusive financial practices. Ali Ladhubhai, Co-Founder and COO of ABHI, emphasizes that this partnership advances the objective of financial empowerment originating from Mr. Amir Paracha’s vision.
Umais Rasheed, Unilever’s country lead for employee experience, emphasizes the company’s commitment to putting its employees first. To help with financial planning, the “earned wage” facility was introduced to give employees the flexibility to withdraw a portion of their earned income as needed, free from worries about interest rates or late payment penalties. The collaboration with ABHI advances the development of a service ecosystem that supports workers’ comfort and financial security, in line with Unilever Pakistan’s dedication to their well-being.
