Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) recently organized a collaborative eye camp with Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) to provide complimentary eye screenings for mechanics in Karachi. This initiative is part of SPL’s community outreach program, demonstrating their commitment to the well-being of local residents.
Waqar Siddiqui, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited emphasized the company’s goal to be a responsible neighbor, sharing the benefits of economic development with communities.
In partnership with LRBT, SPL’s team of skilled ophthalmologists and support staff actively facilitates eye testing. Free medication is provided for identified eye ailments during the screenings. Patients requiring further treatment are referred to the nearest LRBT hospital for additional cost-free care. Siddiqui highlighted Shell’s dedication to investing in the communities where they operate, aligning community investments with business objectives to create a sustainable business environment.
This proactive approach underscores Shell’s commitment to social performance programs that positively impact local communities, fostering a symbiotic relationship between economic development and community well-being.
