Telenor Pakistan Hosts Supply Chain Dialogue on Sustainability

Telenor Pakistan, along with local and international partners, held a dialogue focused on tackling challenges and opportunities in the supply chain industry, promoting sustainable practices for long-term resilience.

The event, held at Telenor Pakistan’s headquarters, brought together representatives from various industries. Keynote speaker Sin Wee Chua, VP for HSE and Supply Chain Sustainability at Telenor Asia, emphasized the importance of responsible actions, environmental and social welfare standards, and addressing issues like unsafe working conditions and child labor.

“Building a sustainable supply chain is a core priority for us,” said Khurrum Ashfaque, CEO Telenor Pakistan. “We’ve implemented robust standards, inspections, and capacity-building programs to ensure responsible practices. We’re proud of our safety culture, digital inclusion partnerships, and science-based environmental targets.”

The dialogue highlighted universal sustainability challenges faced by all industries. The importance of a unified response with strong government policies and collective responsibility for decent working conditions, social, and environmental standards was emphasized as key to building a sustainable future.

Telenor Pakistan, as a responsible corporation, integrates sustainability into its supply chain by identifying and addressing environmental and social risks, continuously improving its societal and environmental impact.
