The Jazz Digital Squad, Pakistan’s top digital operator, came to an epic conclusion as part of its groundbreaking program. With the use of data visualization skills and a data-driven mindset, this national data hackathon aims to empower college students.
Three-quarters of the approximately 1400 pupils that participated in the program were female. As the Jazz team taught students about the importance of the program and the power of data, universities all around Pakistan were buzzing with interactive sessions.
The data analyses and presentations made by the top five finalists, Bhit Datawits (IBA), Data Dazzlers (LUMS), Team Luna (FAST NUCES), Data Dragons (IBA), and The Data Aficionados (NUST), wowed the panel. Chief Data & Strategy Officer for Jazz, Ali Naseer, stated, “The Jazz Digital Squad is more than a hackathon.” “It’s about shaping the future of Pakistan’s digital economy by nurturing these bright minds.”
Jazz’s internship programs provided the winning team, The Data Aficionados, with opportunities to work on real-world projects in addition to monetary prizes. This project is in line with Jazz’s mission to close the digital skills gap and empower young people in Pakistan, which includes its notable projects that support women in entrepreneurship and teach digital literacy to schoolchildren.
