The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is taking steps to enhance the telecommunications sector in Pakistan. According to a recent briefing by PTA Chairman Major General Hafiz ur Rehman, the agency is actively promoting tower and spectrum sharing among telecom operators.
Rehman also emphasized the importance of maintaining internet service quality. The PTA has implemented measures to monitor and address any issues that may arise.

Despite the positive developments, the chairman highlighted the lack of government investment in the telecom sector infrastructure over the past five years. The Universal Service Fund (USF) has been the primary source of funding for the sector.
Looking ahead, the PTA plans to auction 5G spectrum in April of the following year. This move is expected to boost internet speeds and capacity, further improving the telecom landscape in Pakistan.
