PTA Suspends Cellular Services in Sindh During Chehlum

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the suspension of cellular services in specific areas of Sindh during the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). The decision, which came into effect on August 26, 2024, was taken to maintain law and order during the solemn occasion.

The affected areas include Karachi, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and Shikarpur. Both voice and data services will remain suspended in these regions until further notice.

The PTA emphasized that the suspension of cellular services is a temporary measure aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing any potential disruptions to the peaceful observance of Chehlum.
