Pakistan’s cellular subscriber base continued its upward trajectory in August 2024, reaching a new milestone of 193.098 million. This marks a slight increase from the previous month’s figure of 192.924 million.
The rise in cellular subscribers was accompanied by a growth in 3G and 4G users, which now stand at 137.920 million. This translates to a penetration rate of 56.72% for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS).
While the overall cellular teledensity remained unchanged at 79%, there were notable shifts in the market share of individual operators. Jazz, Zong, Telenor, and Ufone all experienced changes in their 3G and 4G subscriber bases.

In terms of consumer complaints, the PTA received a total of 19,223 complaints from telecom users in August. Of these, a significant majority (19,061) were resolved, demonstrating the PTA’s efforts to address consumer concerns.
