P&G and Imtiaz Group Support Women's Economic Empowerment

P&G Pakistan, Imtiaz Group, and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance have joined forces to empower women micropreneurs through interest-free loans. This collaborative effort aims to nurture local entrepreneurship and drive economic growth within communities.

By offering interest-free loans, the partnership seeks to unleash the potential of women, enabling them to establish and grow businesses. This initiative not only benefits the women themselves but also has a positive impact on their families and communities.

To kickstart the initiative, in-store activations and a donation-match program will be launched. The goal is to raise approximately Rs. 1 crore, which will be used to support over 500 women and create employment opportunities for around 800 individuals.

From December 27th to 29th, 2024, consumers can contribute to this cause by purchasing products from brands like Ariel, Pampers, Always, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, or Safeguard.

Ovais Ather Yousuf, Chief Executive Officer of P&G Pakistan, expressed the company’s commitment to advancing gender parity and expanding sustainable economic opportunities for women. Umer Imtiaz, Chief Executive Officer of Imtiaz Group, highlighted the company’s role in uplifting communities by empowering women micropreneurs. Danish Aman, Chairman Council of Patrons Sindh, Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance, emphasized the importance of eradicating poverty and empowering women entrepreneurs.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #1 (eradicating poverty) and #5 (gender equality). By providing financial support and fostering entrepreneurship, the partnership aims to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of women and their communities.
