Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history on Monday by becoming the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket, smashing a sensational 101 off just 38 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans in an IPL 2025 match held in Jaipur. Suryavanshi unleashed a batting masterclass, hitting 11 sixes and seven fours, reaching his century in just 35 balls, making it the second-fastest century in IPL history and the fastest ever by an Indian player.
Partnering with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryavanshi helped build a massive 166-run opening stand that enabled Rajasthan to chase down a steep 209-run target in only 15.5 overs, securing an eight-wicket win and ending their five-match losing streak. Speaking after the game, the young sensation expressed his excitement, saying it had been a dream to score a century in the IPL and that he plays without fear, focusing only on the ball.

This incredible feat broke Yusuf Pathan’s 2010 record of the fastest IPL century by an Indian, who congratulated Suryavanshi on social media, calling it special that the record was broken while playing for the same team. Vaibhav’s meteoric rise includes a Ranji Trophy debut at just 12 years old, a hundred against Australia in Under-19 cricket, and a triple century in a local Bihar tournament, establishing him as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket.
Rajasthan Royals now sit eighth on the points table, with the historic win breathing new life into their IPL 2025 campaign. All eyes will be on Suryavanshi as he continues to make waves in the cricketing world.
