Karandaaz and GrowTech Join Forces to Digitally Empower Small Farmers in Punjab

In a significant development aimed at transforming Pakistan’s agricultural landscape, Karandaaz Pakistan has announced a strategic partnership with GrowTech, a leading AgriTech firm. This collaboration is set to revolutionize how smallholder farmers in Punjab access financial services and modern agricultural tools by integrating technology with ground-level support.

Karandaaz, known for its mission to promote financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth, is bringing its impact-driven expertise to support GrowTech’s digital platform. The partnership will help farmers adopt smart agriculture practices, gain access to agri-markets, input suppliers, and benefit from digital advisory services—all crucial in improving crop productivity and profitability in today’s competitive agri-market.

Waqas ul Hasan, CEO of Karandaaz Pakistan, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that the collaboration will foster a more inclusive and climate-resilient agri-economy, enabling farmers to benefit from both digital tools and physical outreach. The program will be further strengthened through the establishment of Farmer Facilitation Centres in two new regions of Punjab. These hubs will offer training, community support, and access to e-commerce workshops for local leaders.

To ensure the entire agri-supply chain is supported, the initiative includes partnerships with local logistics providers, streamlining distribution networks and improving market reach for farmers. Another innovative aspect of the project is the pilot launch of electronic warehouse receipts, enabling farmers to store produce and access financing against it—easing cash flow constraints in a sector that’s traditionally underserved.

Recognizing the critical role of women in agriculture, the platform will also integrate livestock and health advisory services, specifically aimed at supporting female farmers.

Faisal Bilal, CEO of GrowTech, said the partnership is a step toward building Pakistan’s leading AgriTech platform that delivers inclusive, tech-driven farming solutions. Meanwhile, Karandaaz’s Chief Digital Officer, Sharjeel Murtaza, reiterated the organization’s commitment to working with fintechs and financial institutions to ensure rural communities are not left behind in the digital revolution.

This forward-looking initiative is expected to impact tens of thousands of farmers and set a precedent for future AgriTech and financial inclusion partnerships across the country.
