In a major development for Pakistan’s growing digital economy, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited (DIBPL) has entered into a strategic partnership with JazzCash to enhance digital financial services, particularly focused on international remittances and the country’s booming freelance community. The collaboration aims to make remittance transactions faster, easier, and more secure by enabling funds to flow directly into JazzCash accounts through DIBPL’s global remittance channels.
Signed at DIBPL’s Head Office in Karachi, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) brings together DIBPL’s international reach with JazzCash’s widespread local user base to simplify money transfers and create customized solutions for freelancers who require quick and compliant access to global payments.
Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, CEO of DIBPL, expressed that this partnership is rooted in a shared mission to promote inclusive, innovative, and Shariah-compliant financial services. With JazzCash reaching millions of users across Pakistan, this partnership will empower customers with seamless financial access—whether they’re receiving family support from abroad or managing freelance income.
JazzCash President, Murtaza Ali, emphasized the fintech’s leading role in supporting Pakistan’s digital economy, especially the freelance segment, with more than a quarter of Pakistan’s 2.3 million freelancers already using the platform. He noted that this partnership would enable even faster cross-border transactions while supporting economic independence for freelance professionals.
As Pakistan strengthens its position in the global freelance marketplace, initiatives like this one are vital to bridging financial gaps, reducing friction in cross-border payments, and building a more inclusive digital financial ecosystem. The partnership stands as a powerful example of how collaboration between Islamic banking and digital platforms can fuel national progress—while staying aligned with local values and global standards.
