PTA and Telecom Operators Speed Up Service Restoration in Flood-Hit Areas

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is actively working with telecom operators to restore communication services in flood-hit regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other affected parts of the country. The recent flash floods have severely damaged multiple cellular and fixed-line sites, resulting in disruptions for thousands of users.

PTA teams are on-ground, coordinating with federal and provincial governments, district administrations, and telecom operators to ensure fast recovery. In Buner, high-level meetings were held with Honorable Minister Mr. Ameer Muqaam, PTI Chairman Mr. Gohar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kashif Qayum, and senior representatives of PTCL and cellular mobile operators (CMOs) to assess the ongoing situation and speed up restoration.

Recognizing the critical role of communication services in rescue and relief operations, PTA and telecom operators are making all-out efforts to reconnect affected communities at the earliest. These joint recovery measures highlight the importance of a resilient digital infrastructure in times of natural disasters, ensuring that people can stay connected when they need it the most.
