PTCL Group and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) have joined hands to scale up their award-winning clean water project, bringing sustainable water solutions to underserved communities across Southern Punjab and Thar. The new phase of the initiative is expected to benefit nearly 200,000 people, marking a major milestone in the fight against Pakistan’s water scarcity.
Building on last year’s success in Thar, where PTCL Group collaborated with the Shifa Foundation to install water pumps that transformed the lives of over 15,000 residents, the second phase is bigger and bolder. This time, the project includes reverse osmosis (RO) plants and rainwater harvesting systems, ensuring long-term access to safe drinking water and helping communities move towards resilience and sustainability.
Syed Atif Raza, Group Chief Commercial Officer at PTCL & Ufone 4G, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that access to clean water is a basic human need and PTCL Group is committed to fulfilling this essential requirement with PPAF through sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, PPAF CEO Nadir Gul Barech emphasized that water is not just a resource but life itself, adding that the collaboration will help reshape futures by giving people opportunities beyond basic survival.
The partnership reflects PTCL Group’s philosophy of true progress “Dil Se,” showcasing how purposeful collaboration can create lasting social impact. By working together, PTCL Group and PPAF are setting an example of how institutions can drive meaningful change, bringing hope, health, and opportunity to some of Pakistan’s most water-stressed regions.
