ConnectHear & Ufone 4G Launch Pakistan’s First AI Early Warning System for the Deaf Community

ConnectHear, Pakistan’s pioneering social enterprise promoting disability inclusion through technology, has joined hands with Ufone 4G to launch the world’s first AI-powered Early Warning System, ‘SUNO’, designed specifically for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Supported by the GSMA Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation Fund, the revolutionary platform aims to bridge a life-saving communication gap during natural disasters like floods and earthquakes. Through Ufone’s network and WhatsApp bot, sign language video alerts are instantly broadcast across Pakistan, ensuring Deaf individuals receive timely emergency updates — completely free of cost.

The AI system, developed by ConnectHear, converts critical alerts into sign language videos, while Ufone 4G, part of the PTCL Group, provides the nationwide delivery infrastructure to make this possible.

Through this partnership, we’re using technology with purpose — to create impact that truly matters.”

Kimberly Brown, Head of Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation at GSMA, highlighted that “inclusive innovation ensures mobile technology delivers real impact. This partnership between ConnectHear and Ufone 4G shows how mobile can break barriers in disaster preparedness.”

The launch event in Islamabad marked a milestone moment for inclusive technology in Pakistan — showcasing how AI and mobile innovation can work together to ensure that no one is left behind during times of crisis. The AI Early Warning System sets a new benchmark for accessibility, safety, and equal access to life-saving information for the Deaf community across Pakistan.
