The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released the results of its independent Quality of Service (QoS) Survey for the Third Quarter of 2025, revealing that Zong has emerged as the industry leader, securing the first position across major service categories including Mobile Broadband, Voice, and SMS services.
The comprehensive survey, which assessed the performance of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) in 17 cities and along two roads, establishes Zong as the benchmark for service quality, outperforming competitors in the majority of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Mobile Broadband Excellence: Zong on Top
Zong demonstrated exceptional performance in the critical Mobile Broadband segment, securing the first position in several key metrics, showcasing its commitment to high-speed data delivery.
- Download Throughput (3rd Party App): Zong ranked first, securing the highest Download Throughput in 11 out of 19 cities tested. The operator also achieved the highest overall average Download speed of $25.70 \text{ Mbps}$ in the country, narrowly trailing Jazz in the Auto-mode download category (Jazz at $25.86 \text{ Mbps}$).
- Upload Throughput: Zong secured the top standing in both Auto-mode and 3rd Party App Upload Throughput categories. Notably, Zong had the highest Upload Throughput in 16 cities in both tests. Its overall average Upload speed reached $21.73 \text{ Mbps}$, the highest amongst all operators.
- Latency & Browsing: Zong achieved the second standing in Latency (both Auto-mode and 3rd Party App), demonstrating a quick network response time. The operator also placed third in the Web Page Loading Time compliance.
Unwavering Dominance in Voice and SMS Services
Zong continued its strong performance in core communication services, ranking first in both Voice and SMS services based on KPI compliance levels across the surveyed cities.
- Voice Service: Zong was ranked first in Voice Service with 86 compliant KPIs across the cities, ahead of Jazz (85 compliant KPIs).
- SMS Service: Zong also secured the first position in SMS services, with 33 compliant KPIs.
Solid Mobile Network Coverage
In the Mobile Network Coverage category, Zong secured the first standing, a testament to its widespread reach and quality. The operator was compliant in 15 cities for 4G coverage and 11 cities for 3G coverage.
The PTA survey highlights Zong’s consistent efforts in ensuring high-quality connectivity for its users, reinforcing its position as a leading digital service provider in Pakistan.
