Karandaaz and Kissan Gudam partnership signing

Karandaaz Pakistan has officially partnered with Kissan Gudam, a venture of the Hajisons Group. This strategic partnership provides critical funding and support to strengthen Pakistan’s farming communities and modernize the national agricultural ecosystem.

By unifying modern storage infrastructure, digital financial services, and direct market access into a single platform, the collaboration helps smallholder farmers protect their yields. Furthermore, farmers can now access fair credit through Electronic Warehouse Receipt (EWR)-based financing. As a result, this initiative reduces post-harvest losses, boosts market transparency, and brings rural farmers into the formal financial ecosystem.

Revolutionizing Storage with Kissan Gudam

Kissan Gudam brings a pioneering model that bridges modern hermetic storage technology with digital trading and agri-financing. The company utilizes hermetic storage solutions from GrainPro, a global provider of post-harvest technology.

Compared to conventional warehouses, GrainPro’s hermetic cocoons are highly affordable and portable. Consequently, these cocoons allow for installation close to farming communities, which significantly reduces transportation costs and crop losses. Moreover, this climate-resilient storage preserves the quality and quantity of stored crops, increasing their reliability as collateral for bank loans.

Backed by this partnership, the company will quickly scale its post-harvest ecosystem across rural Pakistan to ensure broader financial inclusion.

Unlocking EWR-Based Digital Financing

Credit alone is not enough to fix Pakistan’s agricultural economy. According to Karandaaz Pakistan CEO Waqas ul Hasan, the sector requires proper infrastructure and market linkages to allow finance to work effectively.

“Through this partnership, we are supporting a model that can localize storage close to farmers who need it,” Hasan explained. This creates an ecosystem where farmers earn higher returns, while the public sector can safely exit commodity markets without compromising national food security.

Similarly, Kissan Gudam CEO Farhan Tahir highlighted the core vision behind the project. “By equipping farmers with the tools to preserve their produce’s value, access formal credit, and connect with better markets, we are building pathways to financial security,” Tahir stated.

Transforming the Rural Value Chain

Anam Tahir, Co-Founder and CTO of Kissan Gudam, explained the technological backbone of the platform. The system links a digital wallet directly to the warehouse infrastructure. Because of this, stored produce is reliably verified and instantly used as collateral. This breakthrough unlocks collateral-backed financing disbursed in minutes instead of weeks.

The official signing ceremony highlighted strong international support. Tom A. Peter, Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, attended the event and called the partnership a prime example of US–Pakistan collaboration. He noted that US-based GrainPro’s technology is driving measurable impact for both smallholder farmers and Pakistan’s formal agricultural economy.

Ultimately, this joint initiative will digitally transform Pakistan’s agricultural value chain by expanding modern storage, financial services, and profitable market opportunities for local farmers.
