DeafTawk and Kingfisher Partner for Digital Inclusion in Pakistan

In order to advance digital inclusion and have a beneficial socioeconomic impact on Pakistan’s underserved deaf community, DeafTawk and Kingfisher have joined forces. In order for the deaf community to communicate with the outside world and find jobs, Kingfisher will provide smartphones to be distributed among them.

The programme aims to assist millions of deaf people in overcoming communication challenges and realising their full potential as participating members of society. By providing the newest pre-owned gadgets that give mobile ownership an experience of unmatched freedom and flexibility, Kingfisher is reinventing the mobile experience economy. Kingfisher is exhibiting its dedication to fostering positive social change and advancing digital inclusion in Pakistan by working with DeafTawk.

The Ministry of IT & Telecom Pakistan has agreed to offer its steadfast support, and Jazz, Pakistan’s top digital operator, has committed to providing the project with the required logistical support. DeafTawk and Kingfisher’s collaboration is a significant step towards advancing digital inclusion and building a more inclusive society in Pakistan.

With Jazz’s help, DeafTawk also provided sign language interpretation services at the Mobile World Conference 2023 (MWC23 Barcelona), the most important industry event for the connectivity sector, to ensure that the deaf population throughout the world could attend for the second year in a row. This is a wonderful accomplishment that will greatly advance digital inclusion and build a more welcoming society.

DeafTawk and Kingfisher’s collaboration is a crucial step towards building a more inclusive society. The programme will assist underprivileged deaf people in Pakistan in overcoming communication challenges, gaining access to career opportunities, and contributing to society. We applaud the efforts of everyone participating in this project and hope that it will encourage others to take similar actions to advance digital inclusion and build a more welcoming society.
