Asia Cup 2023 Reserve Day in Jeopardy Due to Rain

Due to a forecast of severe rain on Monday evening, the reserve day for the Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours stage game between Pakistan and India is in jeopardy. According to media sources, the weather has not improved after Sunday’s game was postponed due to heavy rain and moved to the reserve day.

On Monday morning, Colombo also had heavy rain, which increased the unpredictability of this vital encounter. Even though rain is not anticipated until the afternoon, the city is forecast to experience higher rainfall than it did on Sunday, with humidity levels perhaps topping 90%.

India will resume their innings at 147 for two, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at the crease, if the game’s conditions improve. The previous day, India got off to a fast start, scoring 121 runs in the first two overs before both openers were eliminated.

With the dismissals of Shubman Gill by Shaheen Afridi and Rohit Sharma by Shadab Khan, Pakistan made a comeback in the game. Notably, this round-of-16 match between the two neighbors was also held on September 2 at Sri Lanka’s Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
