Jazz Denies Baseless Gas Theft Accusations by SNGPL

Jazz, Pakistan’s top digital service provider, firmly refutes Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited’s (SNGPL) unfounded claims of gas theft.

Jazz has recently been charged with gas theft by SNGPL, a charge that lacks any supporting evidence. It’s vital to note that none of the more than 15,000 towers that Jazz manages in Pakistan use natural gas in any way. Any claims to the contrary are categorically rejected. Additionally, none of our sites use natural gas as one of their energy sources; instead, they only use diesel generators. In fact, a diesel generator is plainly visible in the SNGPL photograph that is alleged to demonstrate gas usage at the Karak location in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This refutes the false claims made by SNGPL.

These unfounded accusations against Jazz, a multinational company that has over USD 10.5 billion invested in Pakistan and is one of the major taxpayers in the nation, are without basis. Such unsubstantiated assertions have the ability to undermine investor trust and hurt the country’s economy.

Jazz wants to underline that all of our fuel and power agreements are completely legal and ethical. In order to fully adhere to regulatory norms, we have contracts in place with reliable third-party vendors to provide diesel fuel only for our generators at various sites.

Jazz is very proud of its stellar reputation and appreciates the confidence our stakeholders have in us. The irresponsible tactics used by SNGPL in leveling baseless accusations have the potential to endanger not just the trust of foreign investors but also our own national interests. We must prioritize verified claims while preserving the honesty of our business environment.
