U Microfinance Bank and Digitt+ Join Forces to Empower Pakistani Farmers

U Microfinance Bank and Digitt+, a leading agri-fintech company, have announced a groundbreaking PKR 10 billion partnership to reshape financial services for Pakistan’s agricultural sector. This collaboration leverages Digitt+’s innovative payment solutions with U Bank’s extensive lending experience, creating a new era of financial products specifically designed for Pakistani farmers.

The initial phase focuses on improving financial transaction efficiency for farmers in Kanjwani, Muzaffargarh, and DI Khan. With PKR 500 million already disbursed, this initiative streamlines financial transactions and grants farmers faster access to critical resources, ultimately enhancing their productivity and financial stability.

“This partnership exemplifies the transformative potential of collaboration between fintech and traditional banking,” said Ahmed Saleemi, CEO of Digitt+. “By combining our expertise, we are establishing a new standard for the fintech and banking sectors.”

Mr. Mohamed Essa Al Taheri, President & CEO of U Bank, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our alliance with Digitt+ is a cornerstone of our strategy to empower Pakistan’s agricultural sector through innovation. The initial disbursement is just the beginning. We are committed to leveraging this partnership to improve the financial well-being of farmers nationwide.”

This collaboration significantly reduces payment times for farmers, allowing them to reinvest in their operations quicker and improve cash flow management. This financial efficiency is vital for supporting the long-term growth and sustainability of Pakistan’s agricultural sector. Both U Bank and Digitt+ are dedicated to expanding this initiative to reach more regions and fulfill the PKR 10 billion commitment.
