Shell Pakistan Builds First Recycled Plastic Retail Site in Pakistan!

Setting a new standard for sustainability, Shell Pakistan has unveiled Pakistan’s first-ever recycled plastic retail site in Karachi!

This innovative project, located at Malik Service Station on Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi, incorporates roughly 1.3 million pieces of recycled plastic waste into pavers and concrete blocks. This approach not only promotes a circular economy but also tackles the significant environmental threat posed by plastic waste.

Shell Pakistan collaborated with Dabeer Hemani and Syed Ali Naqi, co-founders of Concept Loop, to bring this vision to life. The initiative highlights the potential of recycled materials in building sustainable infrastructure.

“We are incredibly proud to unveil this one-of-its-kind retail site,” said Waqar Siddiqui, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited. “Innovative solutions such as this need to be explored and tested. The success of this project, alongside our plastic infused road initiative, can inspire future sustainable developments.”

This project marks a significant milestone for Shell Pakistan’s commitment to environmental responsibility and paves the way for further exploration of recycled materials in construction.
