IT Minister Visits Jazz, Lauds Its Role in Digital Transformation and Women’s Empowerment

Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, visited Jazz World Headquarters on the occasion of International Women’s Day, recognizing the company’s contributions to digital innovation, connectivity, and financial inclusion. During her visit, she commended Jazz’s efforts in bridging the digital divide and empowering women through technology-driven solutions.

Engaging in discussions with Jazz’s leadership, the minister emphasized the critical role of telecom and IT in shaping Pakistan’s future. She particularly lauded JazzCash’s impact on financial inclusion, highlighting it as a transformative force in enabling economic participation, especially for women.

“Digital innovation is the key to Pakistan’s progress, and Jazz is playing a vital role in driving financial inclusion and connectivity. We must work together to ensure that women are not just participants but leaders in shaping the country’s digital future,” the minister stated.

As part of her visit, the minister toured Jazz’s state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC), where she was briefed on the company’s efforts to enhance digital connectivity nationwide. The discussions reinforced the government’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and fostering an inclusive tech ecosystem.

Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, welcomed the minister’s appreciation and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to driving meaningful change through technology. “At Jazz, we believe that digitalization is a powerful equalizer, and our focus remains on expanding connectivity and financial inclusion, particularly for women. We are committed to collaborating with the government to create a digitally inclusive Pakistan where everyone can thrive in the digital economy,” he said.
