TikTok has released its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, revealing a massive content cleanup across the platform, including the removal of 24.9 million videos in Pakistan alone. The report covers data from January to March 2025 and highlights TikTok’s continued focus on user safety and content moderation in Pakistan’s growing digital space.

According to the report, 99.4% of the videos in Pakistan were removed proactively, with 95.8% taken down within 24 hours of being posted. This shows the effectiveness of TikTok’s automated detection systems and its commitment to maintaining a safe environment for local users.

Globally, TikTok removed 211 million videos, which accounted for 0.9% of all uploads in the quarter. Of these, over 184 million videos were flagged and removed automatically, while over 7.5 million were reinstated after review. TikTok also reported a 99.0% global proactive removal rate, with 94.3% of violative content removed within a day.

The report further revealed the reasons behind content removal. Around 30.1% of deleted videos contained sensitive or mature themes, while 11.5% breached safety and civility policies, and 15.6% violated privacy or security standards. Alarmingly, 45.5% of the removed videos were misinformation, while 13.8% were edited or AI-generated content that violated guidelines.

The regular release of these reports reflects TikTok’s push for greater transparency and accountability. Through its Transparency Centre, available in both Urdu and English, TikTok offers detailed insights into content moderation, safety tools, and policies that help keep the platform safe and enjoyable for users in Pakistan and around the world.
