In a landmark collaboration symbolizing the growing strength of Pakistan–China relations, OPPO Pakistan, in partnership with the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA) and NORINCO International, officially launched Pakistan’s first fully branded metro train on the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train system during a special inauguration ceremony held at the Orange Line Depot, Lahore.
The initiative marks a first-of-its-kind partnership between a global technology brand and a public mass transit system in Pakistan, introducing an innovative approach to commuter engagement while highlighting the evolving potential of public-private collaborations in urban infrastructure.
Senior officials from OPPO Pakistan, Punjab Mass Transit Authority, Orange Line Metro operations, NORINCO International, and members of the Chinese Consulate Lahore attended the ceremony. The event featured an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a walkthrough of the newly unveiled OPPO-themed train and the exclusive OPPO A6s Pro branded carriage.
Designed as a moving representation of innovation, connectivity, and cross-border cooperation, the themed metro train reflects the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China and demonstrates how technology and public infrastructure can come together to enhance urban experiences.
Speaking at the occasion, George Long, CEO of OPPO Pakistan, said: “This initiative reflects OPPO’s commitment to innovation beyond technology products alone. Through this collaboration with PMA and our partners, we are proud to contribute to a project that connects with millions of people in a meaningful and visible way. Pakistan remains an important market for OPPO, and we believe partnerships like these open new opportunities for innovation, engagement, and long-term collaboration between Pakistan and China.”
Officials from PMA welcomed the initiative as a progressive step toward modernizing commuter experiences and creating more engaging public spaces within urban transport systems. The collaboration is expected to encourage future partnerships between public infrastructure institutions and private sector innovators, introducing new possibilities for communication, technology integration, and passenger experience enhancement across Pakistan’s transport ecosystem.
The OPPO-themed Orange Line train will operate across Lahore’s metro network, offering commuters a refreshed visual environment while reinforcing the role of innovation and creative collaboration in shaping the future of urban mobility in Pakistan.
As one of the most visible public transport systems in the country, the Orange Line Metro continues to stand as a symbol of development and Pakistan–China cooperation. This latest initiative further strengthens that narrative by bringing together infrastructure, technology, and public engagement under one platform.
The launch also reflects the broader spirit of collaboration between Pakistan and China, showcasing how partnerships across industries can create impactful experiences for communities while paving the way for future innovation-led initiatives in the country.
