Details show that the PTA got more than 1,200,000 complaints, including 134,000 about Facebook, and blocked more than 1,135,000 IDs for posting “illegal” content and taking part in a campaign to hurt the reputation of state institutions.
The PTA said that Facebook had stopped more than 112,000 fake IDs. Also, the government agency got 65,122 complaints about people posting “immoral” content on TikTok. After looking into the complaints, 63,000 IDs were blocked.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) took down more than 36,000 videos from YouTube and blocked 31,860 Twitter IDs because of the complaints.
Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that it had fixed phone service in more flood-damaged areas, bringing the total number of non-working sites down to 163.
PTA said on its Twitter account that the number of non-working sites in flood-affected areas has been cut to 163 thanks to the continued work of the authorities and telecom operators.
“Work is being done on a top priority basis to fully restore telecom services in flood-affected areas,” it said.
