Pakistan Army in collaboration with Shaheen Air International has organised a polo and tent pegging championship “Shaheen Air Balochistan Polo Tournament”.
The event aims to promote national harmony and is being conducted from Monday, 18 September to Sunday, 24 September, 2017 at Quetta Polo & Saddle Club. People from all tiers of society are going to join hands through their active participation during the tournament.
The championship promotes national harmony & peace in the country in general and Balochistan in particular with a theme “Polo for Peace”. This theme speaks volumes of the commitment Pakistan Army has towards peace making
The tournament has eight teams representing Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta including teams of different corps from Pakistan Army. It was inaugurated by Major General Asim Malik GOC 41 division & Garrison Commander Quetta and Kashif Sehbai, Chairman, Shaheen Air along with major dignitaries.
The championship is an endeavor from Shaheen Air International to promote community and peace-building initiatives in the country. Speaking at the auspicious occasion, Kashif Sehbai, Chairman, Shaheen Air International, said:
“Pakistan is moving through a challenging phase, where we have to be united to deliver and strive towards making a better Pakistan. He emphasized that we have to invest in peace making and appreciated the vision of the COAS and the leadership towards the national cause. He further added that “It is great to see teams having taken such an active part in this polo tournament. On the other hand, our confidence and bondage with Pakistan Army serves as a testimony to our shared commitment of serving the country.”
Students from various institutions also attended the event where a full display of military brass band and tent pegging show captivated the audience.
