Bargain Basement Sale Record PKR10.7 Million Charity for the Year 2017

The Fundraisers hosted their annual and much anticipated Bargain Basement Sale (BBS), #fundraisersBBS, in Lahore on Sunday, 5th of November 2017 at Silver Bells Marquee, Royal Palm Golf & Country Club. This year’s #BBS2017 raised over PKR 7.5 million for charity.  Earlier this year, PKR 3.2 million were raised at The Fundraisers Home Sale, amounting to a record total of PKR 10.7 million of funds raised for charity for the year 2017.

The proceeds from the #BBS17 sale will be divided between 8 charities doing exemplary work. These include (1) Pink Ribbon Pakistan for breast cancer; (2) RS (Rising Stars) Foundation for the education of the underprivileged; (3) Bali Memorial Trust for old people’s homes, (4) Lahore Hospital Welfare Society for the Shams Shahabuddin Convalescent Home; (5) Door of Awareness for education of the underprivileged; (6) The Giving Tree Foundation for providing comfort totes to cancer patients; (7) Pink Rickshaw for creating employment opportunities for women and (8) Medicare Health Foundation for providing quality health care for mother and child to guarantee safe delivery. The first tier sponsors of the event were Sapphire and Interwood. The second tier co-sponsors included Guard Filters, Daewoo and Royal Palm Golf & Country Club with PR by Lotus, a radio media partnership with City FM 89. In addition, this year #BBS17 went high tech with esmartphone payments, ellectronic tills and scanners thanks to its technology partners SimSim Pakistan, Easy Tickets, Autosoft Technology and Lumemsoft Technology.

This year’s annual sale brought together over 200 of the most coveted Pakistani fashion and lifestyle brands all of whom had generously donated items to be sold at the event at heavily discounted prices. Clothing items ranged from high end couture, bridals, semi-formal, and pret a porter pieces along with beautiful jewellery pieces, art, furniture and home accessories. This year also included the addition of a unique Vintage Section, where pre-owned new and gently worn designer items could be purchased for charity along with antique pieces which one cannot find anymore. Designers themselves came out to help with Rana Noman and Kamiar Rokni helping shoppers get the best bargains.

The BBS raffle was also on form with 100’s of great prizes including flights to Dubai and Umra,  weekend stay at Hunza Darbar and Daisy Dot as well as lots of meal vouchers at Lahore’s finest eateries, treatments at the best of salons, free cakes by the best of bakeries and a lot more. Designer and BBS Team member Sara Shahid of Sublime was there pulling out the names of raffle ticket winners.

There was also an auction held with Quddus Mirza as a guest and stunning works of art from Pakistan’s leading contemporary artists: Laila Rahman, M Mohsin SheikhFaraze Syed and Farhan Manto were sold at prices beyond their reserve.  Also a beautiful carpet by Abbas Carpets was sold helping contribute to this amazing total.

Fundraisers BBS shall now be making the sale an everyday event by the introduction of its new e-store – all leftover stock from #BBS2017 will be available to purchase online on the BBS e store at www.fundraisersbbs.com by the end of November, allowing people to purchase discounted items all year round, and donate to the charities carrying the BBS Seal of Approval.
