It was in 2020 when she joined World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), but due to an injury, her career was halted. As a result, she had to go through surgery, which required time to heal. Now, she has decided to go back to the ring under the name ‘Ava Raine’.
However, fans did not appreciate the idea that the daughter of the legendary ‘Rock’ also need to go through a name change. Some of the despised fans took to Twitter and expressed their concerns regarding the move by the WWE management.
However, Simone Johnson aka ‘Ava Raine’ also clarified her stance related to it. She had the following words to say regarding her name change.
WWE has a history of changing the name of the characters before their debut. Only a few people have got away with the policy. However, a few wrestlers have insisted to keep the real name as their ring name. These include former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
It will be exciting to see how things work out with Simone Johnson. Will she earn a name for herself and become as popular as her father or more, only time will tell.
