Following the success of Instagram Stories, the Facebook-owned company WhatsApp implemented a similar change. Since then, WhatsApp stories have undergone massive updates and soon there will be another one.
According to WhatsApp’s beta version, more accessibility options in WhatsApp will be added soon. WABetaInfo tech blog is the only source that provides such updates like that.
Updates
The report indicates that you can watch the statuses of your contacts from the chat list. It was first hinted at when the beta for WhatsApp Desktop was developed. Now WhatsApp plans to launch it for the mobile app as well. Below is the screenshot that shows how the feature will appear, once it will be live.
This will allow you to check the updates of your family and friends, without having to open the status tab. But WABetaInfo states that the feature cannot be disabled via the settings.
Furthermore, WhatsApp is planning to introduce other features as well including introducing undo for deleted messages and edit buttons for the messages. But it cannot be clearly said when these features will go live. However, WhatsApp is currently working on these tasks as well.
