Gallup Pakistan Reveals Stats Regarding Data Misuse

Gallup Pakistan carried out a survey in which it revealed the countries facing data misuse in comparison with Pakistan. The report indicates that 60% of cases of mismanagement of data have been reported globally, compared to 9% in Pakistan.

The Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN) revealed these findings in a global survey. WIN International carried out a survey among 33,236 people throughout 39 countries. The latest findings of the survey were released on International Technology Day. The purpose of the survey was to know the views of the people regarding data sharing on social media and networking websites. The fieldwork for Pakistan was conducted on 15th October and 18th December 2021. The sample size for the survey in Pakistan was 1000 people.

The following questions were asked to adult women and men throughout the world. “Have you experienced any of the following…?” responding to the question in Pakistan, 2% said companies which they previously did not know spammed them. On the other hand, 2% of individuals said that their email was hacked, 3% said they were a victim of phishing, and 1% said their personal details were leaked. Another 2% said that the details of their bank were fraudulently used. However, 91% of the respondents said that none of such incidents were experienced by them.
