As per the sources of the police officials, five people have died as a result of electrocution in the previous 24 hours in Karachi, as on the second day torrential rains continued to wreak havoc. In many areas of Karachi, electrocution Incidents took place reportedly. These include areas like SITE, Tesar Town, Lyari, and Liaquatabad.

While expressing grief over the death of victims amid the rains, the acting governor of Sindh Agha Siraj Durrani asked people to remain at home. Likewise, the majority of the metropolitan regions remained drowned under water as a result of the intense rain. All of the major routes were also inundated, which presented considerable challenges for the city’s residents and paralyzed daily life.

Due to rain, the government of Sindh has proclaimed a public holiday in the divisions of Karachi and Hyderabad, and both private and public offices are closed.

Saddar recorded the city’s greatest rainfall total of 217 millimeters. In addition, after several feet of water swamped the streets surrounding suburban areas like the Malir River, inhabitants there were compelled to relocate. The city’s issues are still being exacerbated by the city’s subpar drainage infrastructure.

Up until July 26, rain is anticipated, and on July 27 a new monsoon phase is possible in some rural Sindh regions.

The terrible circumstances are just an addition to the city’s long list of difficulties throughout the rainy season. Previously during the month, heavy rains caused destruction in Karachi, killing people, destroying property, and exposing the province government’s ineffective efforts to rid residential areas of water.
