Six people passed away of suffocation in Muharram!

During the 9th Muharram procession in the city of Rohri, Sindh, six mourners died from asphyxia and many were knocked out. Three of the six mourners who died while attempting to pay respect to the Karbala martyrs have been identified, according to Edhi sources. They are Mansoor, the son of Bashir Ahmed and a resident of Halani, Dil Sher, the son of Morzada and a resident of Guddu, and Hasan Pathan, a resident of Sukkur Local Board.

According to rescue aid sources, the injured and deceased were taken to Taluka Hospital, where a significant number of people thereafter arrived.

Strict security measures are being implemented nationwide as mourners mark the ninth of Muharram with the appropriate solemnity and holiness in remembrance of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the Prophet Muhammad’s great-grandson, who was martyred in the seventh century (PBUH).

Every major and minor city in the nation is holding a procession. Police, rangers, and army personnel have been deployed by the government as part of security measures across the nation, particularly in sensitive locations.

As a result of several attacks on imambargahs and processions in the country, mobile networks have been suspended in the majority of places and internet connectivity has been blocked in key areas to provide perfect security.
