Floods in Balochistan have severely impacted Balochi singer Wahab Ali Bugti, who rose to fame with the popular song “Kana Yaari” from Coke Studio’s 14th season.
Some pictures of Wahab Ali Bugti have gone viral on social media. They show him and his small children, as well as other family members, sleeping and living outside because they have nowhere to go because of the flooding in Balochistan.
Flooding in the Naseerabad district of Balochistan province ruined their mud house, so they had to live outside. Fans of Wahab Ali Bugti and people on social media are tagging Coke Studio in these photos to ask the singer for help and say they feel bad about the situation in Balochistan.
Celebrities, and politicians call for helping Bugti
Kaifi Khalil, Bugti’s co-singer in the famous Coke Studio song, posted a story on his Instagram seeking help and donations for his fellow colleague.
“[Donate] as much as you can. Please help him if you live near him or are in touch with him,” Khail wrote on his Instagram, adding: “Lots more prayers for you Wahab bhai.”
The singer also provided the details of Bugti’s bank account so that people could donate funds directly to him.
Hadiqa Kayani, a well-known singer in Pakistan, also commented on the post. She was worried about the flooding in Wahab Ali Bugti and Balochistan.
Hadiqa Kayani has announced that she is collecting donations and will soon travel to Balochistan to assist Coke Studio singer Wahab Ali Bugti and other flood victims as part of her “Wasila-i-Rah” flood victims’ campaign 2022.
