According to new information from a Chinese regulatory database, the claim that the iPhone 14 Plus had “the biggest battery on an iPhone yet” was a lie. Last year, this database correctly leaked the battery sizes for the 13-inch iPhone models and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops. According to the leak, all iPhone 14 models have slightly bigger batteries than their predecessors, except for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which falls short by a small amount. Even the iPhone 14 Plus, which was advertised as having the biggest battery of any iPhone, can’t beat the 13 Pro Max.

Apple says that the base iPhone 14 should be able to play videos for 20 hours and the iPhone 14 Pro for 23 hours. This means that the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and Pro Max should be able to play videos offline for an hour longer than the iPhone 13 models that are similar to them. Since we only had a mini phone with a 2,406 mAh battery last year, there is no similar model to the iPhone 14 Plus.

All four models of the iPhone 14 came out last week and will go on sale on September 16. The iPhone 14 Plus, on the other hand, won’t be available until October 7.
