The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi has declared 17 September as a holiday for public and private educational institutes in tehsil Rawalpindi for the Chehlum procession.

All Educational Institutions remain Closed due to Chehlum Procession

All universities, colleges, and schools (government and private) in Rawalpindi will be closed on September 17, 2022, for the Chehlum Procession.

Saturday schools will be closed on September 17, 2022, according to the notification. On the same day, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police also released a traffic plan. Several points have been set up to redirect traffic.

Because of the Chehlum Processions for the martyrs of Karbala on September 17, 2022, the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have put out a detailed Traffic Plan.

During Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum, on September 16 and 17, 2022 (19 and 20 Safar), the Government of Sindh has banned pillion riding throughout the province.
