Naseem Shah Test Positive for Covid-19

Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, so he won’t be able to play in the last two Twenty20s against England. Shah was released from the hospital on Thursday after being treated for pneumonia. The PCB said the fast bowler was feeling “much better.”

The PCB said, “Naseem Shah is back at the team hotel, where he will follow all COVID-19 rules.” Pakistan will leave for New Zealand on Monday to participate in a Twenty20 series with Bangladesh and another team.

The PCB didn’t say if the fast bowler will go to New Zealand with the team. Shah only played in one of the seven games against England at Karachi before he was taken out of the series. In the first game, which England won by six wickets, he did not do well, giving up 41 runs in four overs. He went to the hospital in Lahore on Tuesday night because he had a fever and a chest infection.

Pakistan is in the lead with a 3-2 score in the series. In the last two games, at Karachi and Lahore, they won by a narrow margin because England couldn’t catch up to their low scores.

The last two games will be played in Lahore on Friday and Sunday.
