T20 World Cup Pakistan vs India could be washed out by Rain

India’s first game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will be against Pakistan, which is one of its biggest rivals. The game will take place on Sunday, October 23, at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. From October 21, Accuweather says it will rain in the Australian city, and if the news is to be believed, the rain could ruin the big day.

There are no reserve days for group matches; they can only be used for the semifinals and the finals. So, if the India-Pakistan match is canceled because of rain, the two teams won’t play each other again until the finals.

The Bureau of Meteorology says there is a very high chance of rain.

Rain could not only cause a delay, but it could also wash away the fixture thoroughly. Friday, October 21, has a 96% chance of rain, and Saturday, October 22, is likely to be the same. On Sunday, October 23, the city is also expected to get a lot of rain. A completely cloudy sky will help the fast bowlers on the Melbourne track get some swing and seam.

The Bureau of Meteorology says there is a “very high chance” (90%) of showers and possibly thunderstorms.

“There’s a chance of a storm in the morning and the afternoon. The Australian Bureau says, “Light winds becoming southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning, then tending southerly 15 to 20 km/h in the afternoon.”

Each side must bowl at least five overs for a game to go on. If not, it will have to be called off, and according to the tournament rules, both teams will get one point. A team will get two points for every win and no points for every loss. If the game in Melbourne gets rained out, the other teams in Group B will have an advantage.

The West Indies and the Netherlands were supposed to play a warm-up game on October 12 in Melbourne. However, the game was called off before a single ball was bowled. Zimbabwe vs. Namibia, Sri Lanka vs. Ireland, and Scotland vs. UAE were all canceled on October 13. All three games are now set to take place in Melbourne.
